The Black Dog Coffee Company Supports Local Community
The Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia is full of wonderful local coffee shops that provide delicious hot drinks that are especially good during these cold winter months. If you are in need of a nice hot cup of Joe or a tasty hot chocolate, you need not look too far. If you are in Jefferson County, you should make sure to check out The Black Dog Coffee Company in Shenandoah Junction. Let me tell you why.
The Black Dog Coffee Company is a unique place to get coffee. They roast their coffee on site with their Plutonius machine, which is one of the oldest operating roasting machines in the country. Their coffee is always fresh, and they offer a variety of local baked goods and produce to buy.
In addition to their delicious coffee, The Black Dog Coffee Company offers a lot of local support to the community. They host regular yoga classes on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm and on Fridays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. They also host local bands and open mic nights at their shop. In fact, tomorrow February 21st, they will be hosting Bob Williams and The Itty Bitty Big Band from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. With the weather being the way that it is though, make sure you check their Facebook page for any changes to this event before heading out there.
Beginning in mid-April, they will be hosting their own open-air Farmer’s Market and Community Night every Wednesday. It will feature products from local organic farmers and artisans who have crafts to share. Each week, they plan to raise awareness about a different non-profit organization and one local business. This weekly event will run through the month of November. If you are interested in learning more about this event series and how you can be a part of it, you should attend the BDC Farmers’ Market Vendor Info and Sign-Up Night on Wednesday, March 4th at 6:30 pm.
The Black Dog Coffee Company is a great example of a local support system in the community. They have really embraced the “Support Local” slogan. The Lind Kilroy Team of ERA Liberty Realty is proud to be a part of a community that is dedicating to supporting local businesses.
