Founded in 1734 by Thomas Shepherd, Shepherdstown WV is the oldest town in the state. Originally known as ‘Mecklenburg’, the town was renamed Shepherdstown, which was shortened to Shepherdstown after the Civil War. Sheperdstown WV is full of history.
